This isn't a web-design question, but as designers I'm sure all of you have designed printed media for clients on occasion. So perhaps you can share some advice?
I currently have an older, cheap HP all-in-one unit. (Printer, copier, scanner.) But when I design a brochure in InDesign CS2, or an 8.5 x 11 project in Photoshop CS2, I can't print the comps at home as my printer doesn't do borderless. Plus, in Photoshop, it also always gives me a .5-.7 inch border on the top. There's no setting to change it.
Ideally, I would like to be able to print with at least .25" margins (like Kinkos, etc.). This way I can print my own comps and be able to print and adjust my projects without making several trips elsewhere.
However, if I buy a borderless printer, will Photoshop and InDesign allow me to actually print that way? I've seen various issues online, although I can't get a clear-cut answer.
Anyone have any input? Thanks.
