Before reading this please note that my grammar is really poor (Hope you guys didn't left already...).
I really love web design and I think it will be my career.
I'm 14 right now and I started having high interest in web development 2 years ago. 2 years had passed and my progress is 0... I get distracted too much, when ever I tried to learn a programming language I will do other things every 10 minutes. I really need some advice on this. And I move to other things really quick, I was trying to learn flash than jumped to as2>dreamweaver>html>photoshop>php at the end I never really learned much from all those topics. I have tech blogs bookmarked and checks them every 30 minutes or so, do you think this could be a major problem for me?

Here's a few questions that I really want to get off my chest.

1. What are the programming languages that could be used in flex 3?

2. Do I have to learn html before xhtml?

3. I really want to understand what's XML and some examples of it's dynamic usage.

4. How do I make things animated in a webpage without the usage of flash?
Example: http://www.newspond.com/

5. This page is full of animation and can even be viewed in full screen!
http://www.flashden.net/files/22324/index.html
Is XML making the page animated?

6. What kind of government process is there in creating a webpage that earns revenue ? I know there's copyright, trademark...

7. Why big companies are mostly in California is it safe there?

8. Will I need a team to build a dynamic website?

9. When ever there's a login for a website it's build with php +My SQL right?

10. I dream really big could this be distracting me too?

11. If you are really good in photoshop can I pay you to teach my how to design the webpage of newspond.com(like the metal texture, shadows, corners, buttons)? My budget is around $100-$200

12. I really gotta fix my grammar

I really appreciate you reading this horribly written thread.
Thanks for your time.

No way! This will only help you learn more!

2. Do I have to learn html before xhtml?
No - There is not much difference between the two. XHTML is considered the most current standard method of development and it keeps structure (design) and content seperate from each other.

3. I really want to understand what's XML and some examples of it's dynamic usage.
eXtensible Markup Language - It is primarily used as a common data structure between multiple applications. XML has very strict guidelines, but it is also very open to how you want to customized your data.

7. Why big companies are mostly in California is it safe there?
That's a funny one - I never thought of California of being 'safe'. There are big companies all over, but most of the technoloy leading companies do happen to reside there.

8. Will I need a team to build a dynamic website?
Through time and experience building, you can be an independant developer.

9. When ever there's a login for a website it's build with php +My SQL right?
PHP and MySQL are just one possible tool to use. There are many other programming frameworks also available (.NET, ColdFusion, ASP, Java to name a few).

10. I dream really big could this be distracting me too?
Heck no - I see that as your biggest asset!

12. I really gotta fix my grammar
New - your cool!

Well that pretty much sums it up . Great work mgraphic!

A few things to add:

4) How do I make things animated in a webpage without the usage of flash?
Looks like your referring to rollover effects and such. HTML can do these, to some extent, however learning CSS, Cascading Style Sheet, would assist you in completing what you want.

5) This page is full of animation and can even be viewed in full screen!
http://www.flashden.net/files/22324/index.html
Is XML making the page animated?
This website is fully created in Flash, and there are no HTML documents, except for the index, which would embed it into the page. XML could be playing a roll, however not a very big one! Most of the major coding would be in the flash document. Such as the navigation, images, and body!

11) If you are really good in photoshop can I pay you to teach my how to design the webpage of newspond.com(like the metal texture, shadows, corners, buttons)? My budget is around $100-$200
I'd be happy to help. Drop me a PM!

Its great to see more and more students get into the business! It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, however try to remember that everyone starts somewhere! Even the best of the best, the high-end designers, and the "Guru's" all started in the same way you did, and that is, by asking questions .
