Yup. When I search for the best search engine in google, dogpile is on no 1. Google is not even in the first page. May be this post might show up after some days.
Yes Dogpile puts the power all the leading search engines together in one search box to deliver the best combined results. The process is more efficient and yields more relevant results that's why it is the best search engine.
Still, I just have to admire that tagline that Infospace came up with for Dogpile. I know they've done quite a bit of other stuff to earn their ranking, but the fact that this tagline shows up so frequently as an exact match just proves to me that good SEO *always* starts with good content.
and Yahoo agrees, using the same search string "the best search engine" the first entry is a list of search engines from UC Berkley, follwowed by Dogpile.
Or something like that.
