Hi,
I am working on freelancer since 2007. However i haven't done lot's of projects there for my personal problem, but i have learned some trick and way to win a bid. May be i am lucky or i am wrong, but this really works for me and i want to share it with all.
So, what i do before bid:
- When search for projects, i always search them by category not by latest or featured. As i am experienced with PHP and WordPress, i searched on these category first. Because i think i can do better quotes for those things, what i understand very well and fast.
- Don't give up on the project name. Sometime project name and project description doesn't matched or client wasn't able to highlight requirements on project title. So i go through all of the project sorting by newest first.
- Always try to after reading description. Nowadays, most of the client use one method to prevent spam. Like: mention "Some words" on your bid. So bidding without their security word, just waste of time.
- Read the description, not really carefully !! but find out the lacks there
Sometimes client writes wrong for their lack of experience or mistake, find them, highlight them on your bid message. Let them understand that, you know better than them.
- Always write something queries so that buyer had a chance to reply or answer them. Just make them to start communication. This is really very very important.
- Highlight your bid by freelancer. A 1$ isn't a big amount, but few clients really like them. So highlight your bid atleast for a $1 and let them notice you.
However there are more, and i will share them if somebody got a success by these tips first. Goodluck.

Yes. Really useful advices.
Don"t forget to mention what can you offer and why client should choose you.
Don"t bid if you are not sure you can provide what client needs.
Don"t hope low quality project output will pass.
Put yourself on your client place and ask would you be satisfited.
Take responsibility for what you are doing and offering

Thanks for your great advises. These are my factors when I bid on a project.
Like to hear more advises from you guys. some times you are sure you can complete the project exactly as description even better but this is what you know not the client, what other advises you guys have which helps attract the client attention to it.
Thanks.

These are some very helpful tips you've given. I will admit, I generally look for freelancers and don't do freelance work myself, although this has crossed my head from time to time. If I decide to do a couple freelance jobs, I will definitely implement a few of these techniques you've described.

You obviously don't actually understand what a "freelancer" normally does and how it works do you?????

did you look at full time projects?
NOTE: Unlike normal projects, freelancers are allowed to bid in any way they like, for example an hourly or weekly rate. Hourly rates are only allowed in full time projects on Freelancer.com
Please see terms 10.2 Bidding

Service Providers can only place bids that equal the total amount of money they are requesting for the project. You cannot post an hourly bid or any other abnormal type of bid. This also applies to Service Buyers. Service Buyers cannot create projects that directly or indirectly require Service Providers to place hourly or other abnormal bids. The only exception, for both Service Buyers and Service Providers, is when the project is full time.

Starting a conversation within freelancer and employer is really important. It is the best trick you can do to earn more projects in the future.

This is so right, most of my winning bids have gone through a few messages with the client! Specially when something was left unexplained, they appreciate your queries.
I guess it's logical, neither I would hire anybody prior to exchanging a few words with him.
