I am to become a client of hostv.com and need some help with my accoun type choise.

The site to be hosted requires several gigs of webspace and stable-wide traffic channel, as it includes various stuff from text to video information. First I thought of getting a VPS, but after reading of the hybrid servers I though it could also be chosen...

I need to know which would be the best for my needs, as I hope to get a stable performance.

Help me please to get into.

Thank you.

60-70 Products max
Looking for a better price than $40 a month.
I imagine these specs are probably the most accurate to our needs:

Can anyone else give me a proper analysis of our needs?
Is VPS necessary?

Hey There,

I installed MAMP on my computer to test sites locally. I installed Wordpress locally and got that to work fine. Now however, I am starting to build up another site and want to test the new site out, but do not know how to structure the root folder in such a way that would allow me to preview the sites. I created a folder titled "wordpress" for the wordpress and "macftw" for the new site and now when I navigate to the root directory I get this screen:
http://i38.tinypic.com/zl999j.png
And when I click the "wordpress" folder I get the site, but it's completely un-styled as pictured:
http://i38.tinypic.com/14keaz9.png

Why is the wordpress site un-styled? I moved everything to that folder including the CSS files. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, if anyone knows of an introduction to this topic that I can read up on that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance! I really, really appreciate any and all help =)

I check once a fortnight-ish. Last time they were fine and showing 5-8000 unique hits per month. Today, I have almost 8000 for October, BUT only 307 for september, and Zero's down the board before that. My site has been up for 3 years, but there is only 2009 showing in the drop down menu for reporting period.

What's going on? Have I inadvertently deleted some file/s, and if so what can I do about it? Or is my host to blame?

I use Cpanel, if that makes any difference.

Hi There,

I just set up a Wordpress blog and uploaded to my shared hosting service provider and everything works fine, but when I point my browser to the url the three W's disappear and am just left with: http://example.com instead of http://www.example.com (Sorry, I don't know what the rules of posting actual urls are). I'm new to web development and would like to know why this is happening. I've consulted with my hosting provider and all they can tell me is that it is a Wordpress setting. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
