I have a decent amount of Bandwidth under my plan... I have set up Wordpress on one of my three web sites and so far it seems to be working just fine. I have a decent amount of Bandwidth under my plan and also plenty of space. Unfortunately currently under "shared" hosting.

Problem is, when I installed Wordpress, my hosting company sysop started whining about how hackable WP is and how bad it is....et.....

I have read some of the recent articles claiming that the latest versions of WP are resource hogs. Currently, my blog does NOT get many hits but some day it could. And I want to add blogs to my two other sites.

So, I asked the sysop, if WP is so bad, what else should I use? I don't like the way WP uses crosslinks and a whole lot of disk activity, every time something small is changed. I hate how it clogs my stats with superfolous hits to files I could care less about. But I have no control over the stats program. It's set up system wide.

I'd love to load something smaller, leaner and cleaner, but with still some of the perks of WP. I like threaded comments, I use an AD script and I do some of my own edits.

Any suggestions???

I do NOT want to host from any of the free blog companies and I don't want to spend any money buying a script right now.
