Hi I would like to open an online store & was wondering what I should sell , should I pick a hobby of mine or pick something that is very popular & sells well with a reasonable profit margin. I have said to myself possibly something that encompasses a bit of both .

What I would really like to find out is “what items sell the best & are the most profitable”

I have tried clickbank in the past & that did not do well for me so I was thinking more on the lines of selling physical goods.

Also I am not sure how to go about it & so if anyone knows of any good online guides for “ how to open an online store please let me know.

I would focus on what you know already - there will be less to learn, and less chance of getting scammed.

There are some good podcasts out there, listen to a few of those for advice.

Or, just grab a flight to one of the big product-creation countries (China, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc) grab a cheap apartment and start walking - you'll find the answer...

Everything is profitable it only how you sell and market it .
If you able to reach your target then those product will become most profitable.
People selling electronic product which might most common but people that sell vegetable also earn that much.
I might suggest you to go with hobby while every hobby do have the niche , do thing you like , you should have more idea to market it and know well your target market.

I think the products which is selled to women are the most profitable.They always change a lot each season.

Most internet sellers and newbies want to know what sells the most and what is the most profitable.

So they can copy what other people are selling.

Think what you like to buy or your friends.

Just one tip: Go for whatever makes you most interested to sell to. Like, you can't sell gadgets when you yourself is not techy enough to describe a certain gadget to your visitors. You can't sell a weight loss supplement if you yourself is an obese person. As a business owner, I always love what I sell.

You should begin with your interests and interests, because that is what will convert best for achievements. But I would couple that with market research, looking at websites like Amazon and seeing if the market has prospective benefit before you begin out.

I give away a report on my website which should answer your question. Also, unless you plan on starting an e-commerce store that looks LEGITIMATE I wouldn't recommend even trying it. Buy products and sell them on Ebay.

Wouldn't a software program like ebay auction spy be incredibly valuable.It finds what is selling the best and spits out details of the seller etc.That tool would definitely speed up the learning curve of what to sell.

Surely ebay already has enough people selling the same old products.

You will see sellers complaining that they cant get views.
