Hi Guys
I'm in new Zealand.
I offer Paypal on my website. I would like to offer credit cards facilities.

I was wondering how much it costs to set up a Merchant Account to offer credit cards in the USA and UK (just for comparison purposes)
Are there set up fees and ongoing monthly fees ?

Yes usually.

depending on the bank there can be:

A setup fee.
An annual charge .
Monthly fees.
Transaction costs,
Possible charges if you don't meet a certain amount of sales each month.
Fees for accepting more than one currency.

plus anything else they can get away with!

Paypal is best option because it is cheap in compare to other services so use paypal only. I am also paypal user because it is secure.
My gold silver ads site is based on pay pal.

It doesn't cost that much.

Usually a couple of hundred pounds and then a monthly charge of about £20 plus a commission for each transaction.

A lot cheaper than running an actually high street shop

Depend upon where you from every country has there own banking policies. But Paypal is good option some business . all depend upon the requirement of your business

You DO know that people can pay via credit card through PayPal Standard, right?

Have you tried Google Checkout they are getting more and more popular now. On our website we accept both PayPal and Google Checkout
