How can a retiree start an online business? What's your suggestion for them? Ideas and require capital. Preferably home-based

Home based business is one of the best job for retiree because you have all spare time to cruise down and make some money. All you need to do is take suggestions from experts, read lots of information and invest little money if possible.

i think its easier for retiree as of course you have lots of cash to spend.
i suggest you buy an ebook and spend hours reading it and follow its instructions..you'll learn later the mechanics of this internet business later on.

Going home-based with your business would be to your advantage. First off, you don’t have to pay any rent to get a place. You can just use a vacant room in your house to start with. Next is, you have to know what’s going to sell and it will depend on where you are geographically. Start small, let the business take its course and be patient. It won’t go boom in a couple of days.

Just wanna create a good list for them utilize their time, experience and money making their own life more happier. For example they can start

- Home-based online store,
- Writing articles
- Making business policies/SOP
- Selling old/used phones one net
- Home-based sports training
- Tourist local guider
- Home-based travel agent

Please don't spam. Add some more feasible ideas.

With my experience, I have used Joomla which is a great content management system. It's pretty simple to use once you get used to it and it's FREE! With Joomla, you can download plugins which are add ons to use for your website. There is a plugin called Virtuemart and again. It has plenty of usability to allow you to manage all of your products the way you like. I suggest it would take a few weeks of hard work to understand Joomla exactly once it has been installed and configured correctly.

As you probably have a bit of time on your hands now, I would really recommend that you look into it.

Offering a service to a a industry that you know and understand is much easier then opening an eCommerce site from scratch.

eCommerce is a good business but very hard and competitive.

Hi roger, I think the first thing you will do is to ask yourself of what you do best, I mean your hobbies and etc before plunging in on any business online or offline. Since in business you must know every aspect of it to ensure success.

If you have limited resources or experience but would really like to have an online business I suggest going through a company called mbinstores dot com. They were the answer I needed to get going with little money and no experience. They have everything I needed to get started, even getting a domain name. mbinstores dot com provided me with technical support , shipping, products, marketing tips and training sessions, I was even able to talk to a live person.

Well as you've mentioned that you've plenty of the most demanding factor in making money online, time, then you're clearly off to something very profitable here! But as for suggestions, we really can't suggest any at this point for we don't know what you're capable of doing, or what things have you done before. That will certainly pave the way to what kind of business you can start out with since after all, if you're business is something you enjoy and take pride with, then you're bound to excel and generate profits.

Starting an online business at home is no piece of cake. But, if you have a bit of capital, you can actually do some things right away without too much trouble. Typically, an online business has to do with a product.

So, you would have to find a product that you can buy from an offshore or local wholesaler. This, believe it or not, is the hardest part. If you are able to find a good, relatively unknown source, you can then sell at a cheap enough price to make a profit.

Cost: There will be cost involved in different areas:

1. Buying the product/s
2. Business startup costs like licenses etc:
3. Website development
4. Hosting
5. Pay Per Click and other paid advertising
6. SEO and other organic search marketing
7. Unknowns that always creep up

There are plenty of opportunities especially for existing online business opportunities. However, the majority of business opportunities you come across these days over promise and under deliver. You'll see offers like "make $1500 in 48 hours", "earn $200 an hour", or "create an income stream of $50,000 a month".

After examining these opportunities, it becomes clear that, even though the business model may make sense, there's a universal flaw. You need to spend the same amount of money on marketing and advertising as you would receive from the business opportunity.

The people who create these opportunities sell you a pipe dream. The actual business they sell is the tip of the ice berg. You need to devote endless hours and/or unlimited money to get traction. Sure the Website has been professionally developed with all of the bells and whistles. They even provide you with helpful recources like training videos or online help text. What they don't do is partner with you to help get your business noticed. I'm talking about marketing and advertising.

Marketing and advertising is where most people fail. They give up before they make their first dollar because of the time, effort, money, and frustration that is involved.

Why not save yourself the trouble and get into a business opportunity that helps you market and advertise your business so you will be successful? Why not choose a business opportunity that assures your success by guaranteeing to buy your business back from you in the future?

Afterall if you are really serious about making money, shouldn't you research really money-making opportunities?
