Hi,

I am creating a website for a friend and she would like to ship her products to the US and Canada, and then also to the UK.

She will have one set of shipping prices for people within the US and Canada, and then of course a different set of prices to people in the UK.

Is this something that can be done with paypal? I've looked around for a paypal forum, and the only one I could find was one that had posts about this in 2002 and 2005. It looks like at that time this wasn't an option, but I'm really hoping that things have changed.

If it's not an option for paypal, is it an option in google checkout? And if it is available in google checkout, and not in paypal, what are peoples' thoughts on google checkout?

I'm very new to setting up e-commerce sites and things, but I would really like to learn so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you use some of the software that has a "shopping cart" built in, adding the S&H to the total is no problem. It just becomes another item in the shopping cart.

If you are trying to use individual buttons from PayPal, I think there is an option to add a shipping charge per item. If not and you are doing a flat fee for each, that becomes just another item.

Thank you for the response!

I was planning to use the standard paypal shopping cart, and did find the shipping calculations page but it looks like I can only set one standard shipping calculation. I would like to have one for people in the US and Canada, and then another one for people in the UK.

I don't believe any two of those three would be the same. I sometimes ship to or receive from Canada. The rates are much different than the states. By the time you cross the big pond it has to be even more.

Faced with the choice you described, I would pick the "local" market and have an add on shipping charge for the other or others. Just make the optional shipping a seperate button link. This won't be automatic, but if; clearly noted a followup email; should get the proper payment received for those who are reading impaired.
