First off sorry for such a long post.
I have been trying to move my site from option cart for about a year now. I have had some issues with the current site I don’t think the navigation it is the best. The cart is separate from the site so it doesn’t match the catalog. The cart times out after 20 mins also. I feel that it’s not the greatest for search engine placement. Seems ever time I have tried it doesn't work out. Ether cart does work correctly or design integration does not work.

First about my business: We have an embroidery boutique we personalize all the items we give the option to have the name as a text input and a font choice drop down. On the complex items the shopper can even build their own bag.
So we have to be completely clear on options pictures and choices to help the shopper decide what product to buy. So the easier we can make it the more sales we make and fewer phone calls we receive. The business is geared around moms and children so we need a system that the cart does not time out. Also I need the ability to have help buttons beside the options.
Since the way the site is gear and the target market it needs to be a very cute site.

This is what I am really looking to do. I would like to find something that is turkey or if it needs some coding I would like for it not to be a complete rewrite or the cart. I would also like to be able to import my current site to the new one if I had to pay for it than that would be fine. The cart also needs to be something I can host anywhere. I don’t mind paying for the cart but I don’t want to pay a lot for the cart and then a lot for hosting a month. I am not trying to get out for free but I would like to get a good price. I can figure almost anything out but I just don’t have time.

I have been looking at a few carts now
candypress.com I was going to use this but its missing too many features and I would have to get someone to completely reprogram it.

Aspdotnetstorefront.com Seems to be feature rich but its lacking a few things. I have not really been able to find anyone to work with for a good price. The shopping cart also is high price and you have to pay for support above the price of the cart.

CS-Cart I keep looking at this one seems good but concerns me the lack of contact information. If I could find a good developer than maybe I would go with it.

Actually it does. I was looking at it when I found cs-cart. CS-cart just seems a little more bang for the buck

It does look pretty good. Free trial which is nice too.

Does it supports realtime FedEx,UPS etc for shipping rates and integrate with payment gateways like worldpay, chronopay, 2checkout payment system?

try out os commerce, its open source and hence free, it offers loads of functions including bulk uploads from a csv (excel) file, its a complete package though, website and shopping cart all in one

I actually looked at it awhile back. Not bad for free. But I dont like the idea for having such a hacked up code to give all the options I need.

as a developer, i come across this Question for custom cart once.
answer is NOT to. y reinventing wheel, while u can take & use one ??

i think os commerce will have all the options you need, its a question of configuring it rather than hacking it
