Hey our company is looking to expand abroad as well as the uk office. This is mainly for personal reasons for some of the directors. We are looking to expand to Spain - Costa Blanca possibly near Murcia or Alicante. We have no problems in offering spanish versions of websites and of our own sites. However our spoken spanish is poor and we have little knowledge on how to break into the spanish market with regard to sales, company formation, taxation etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ramsay

Hi Ramsay:

If you're having problems with translation, hire a translator - it's the
best investment you'll ever make

If you want to do business over-seas, open an office overseas

I don't mean a physical presence - advertise in trade journals and overseas newspapers for
employees, and let them do the work for you - for a percentage

Google for the information you'll need - things like:

Overseas Newspapers, Overseas Trade Journals, Overseas Import and Export
Representatives - that kind of stuff -

And BE PICKEY - it's your business....

I've got an office in Johannesburg, and I haven't been outside the US since NAM - started out
marketing computer parts to Africa (a hot market - 10 years ago) and discovered they like that
gold plated jewelry over there - so I moved into that supply and demand market as well - when
the computer parts business went downhill, I was already marketing plated jewelry...

And doing WELL at it....

Don't be in the "Last to do it" category - even the "Next One" to get that idea is already late....

Be the "First One" -

Be the Innovator -

Start something that is new while you're already marketring
something else - that way, if it's not moving, youi won't have
to STOP your business to "adjust it" -

You'll still be in business, hopefully making MONEY
and you'll have time to change plan 'b'....

America doesn't tax "you" for your exports - only 'imports" -
and even then, only from certain countries -

Think about it:

If you import - you create competition for American products -
If you EXPORT - you're creating JOBS....

If you have ANY questions - call the IRS -

They are the ones that issue you your PIN, EIN, Tax ID Number -
(or whatever they call it in your state)

It's all the same thing - an identifying Business Number to track you with....

And the IRS controls that part....

They'll have ALL the answers you'll need....

Do it NOW

He who hesitates......

HTH

Yes, hiring a translator might be a good idea.

You can get a spanish speaking one quite easy! There are plenty over at Taco Johns last time I checked. They'll work for $6.00 an hour too! JK

AH yes - Matthiew...

Cute....

Quite right, of course -

BUT - with the 17 castillions of Spanish in Mexico alone, he'll have to pick carefully -

Altho - I doubt very seriously if he'll find anyone that speaks Costa Blanka Castillion fluently at "Taco Johns"....

BTW - I went to your site -

I particularly like the cut-n-paste article about the Male Sexual Gland Outfits
and the burgeoning Condom Market....

Does it bring in a lot of sales ???

You've been on-line almost 3 full months now, surely you have some hard-core Marketing suggestions
you can add to your rapier wit to help this man out......

????

god **** are you a d***. do you understand that my website SELLS NOTHING so stating that "does it bring in a lot of sales" makes no sense whatsoever.

i have a background which you know nothing about so i suggest you can it.

my comment above was called a "joke" and maybe you didn't pick up on that and used your snubbed nose to take a stab at someone with a freakin sense of humor

great job buddy!

if you want to see a real response, which all my replies have been besides this one use the freakin "search" tool if you can find it or try my profile. i have been on this forum for only a day now and your prick attitude doesn't make people want to stick around.

try growing some balls and some brains before you make comments. try reading between the lines once and awhile d***

btw, need time check into what a "laughing" smily face is with a giant JK next to it. that might be your hint at what the "tone" of my suggestion was. considering i write 10 - 15 posts a day, a summary of an article isn't a bad thing. try running your own quality website that makes as much as my blog does in a day then you can talk.

Matthiew:

I guess my polite post went right over your head, so I'll be a bit more direct....

I admit, I'm a bit confused here....

You state:

Quote:
do you understand that my website SELLS NOTHING
And, then you quip with:

Quote:
try running your own quality website that makes as much as my blog does in a day then you can talk
I guess that's why I'm confused....

Which one is the truth, and which is the braggadocio ??

BTW: Ten or Fifteen posts a day is nothing - my 14 yr old daughter posts more than that....

As for not knowing anything about you, or the part that you're in college for your BA in
Business, heading for your MBA at Minnesota, and in your third year - you're a bit wrong....

I know that you're a STUDENT, and I know that your site
hasn't been on the Internet for three months yet
And, unless you're a total fraud, I know what you look like....

So, I guess you really don't know "everything" you're talking about after all.........

See - what you did is NOT called a "joke" - it's called THREAD CRAPPING

And, it's <jk> - not "JK"

The rules don't change just because you're here....

But, you'd know that if you weren't a Newbie....

Actually, you're quite an irritating little SIMP

I've been on the Internet since it was called ARPANET (ask your teachers what that is)
and the only thing you could "sell" was what you posted on a BBS (again, ask your teachers....)

I own and operate 17 "Sites"

I have sites that take in MILLION PIECE ORDERS

AND - I created, own and operate JUNIOR MISS AMERICA

I was the first person to put Professional Wrestling on Television

I raised $115,000,000 for the SHRINERS a couple years back, at MY expense, of course....

(because they accept donations, but never ask for anything)

Last year - We (I'm the Senior Bishop for the United States for my Church - hense the BISHOP Paul) gave away more to
CHARITY than you'll make in your work career in toto.... which We do EVERY YEAR....

For example:
I worked for the Jerry Lewis Telethon for the entire Great Lakes Area for YEARS (till I retired)

And, (still) own and run an Advertising Company that's 50 years old....

We do Television, Radio, Newspaper, Telethons, Centenials - that kind of stuff....

And have been for the last FIFTY YEARS

Not that it's any of your business......

What have YOU done lately ????

Besides being an irritating SIMP, that is....

Next time, try adding to the conversation instead of crappin all over it, will ya -

Clowns are for the CIRCUS...... not the Internet

Go do that on your oh-so-famous "blog" that makea more than I do......

<------ btw - that's laughter ------<<

This is a BUSINESS SITE, for BUSINESS

Not for your personal social masturbations

OH - consider this also:

FAMILIES come here - so you just might want to watch your LANGUAGE -
there could be KIDS reading this....

Newbies.... Sheesh......
