For those of you who do not know, X-Plane is a flight simulator for the PC. I own an X-Plane fan-site, and I have been advised by the community to use my website as the first "home" for payware. I am very confused as to how payware sites work.
I myself won't be selling anything, but people from my X-Plane website may want someone where they can show-off their payware creations for the PC game.
I am assuming that I need to host the files on my website. If so, how can I make them secure? i.e. I don't want anyone being able to download them if they haven't paid for them via paypal or another paying online system.
Apparently with Paypal, after buying the item you will recieve an email with a download link included inside it. Is that download link hosted on my website, and is it secure (as mentionned above)?
I am happy to create webpages to store details of the item that people might want to buy and then download.
I am new to payware, and have online hosted freeware in the past.
