need some help i have built a site for my mate and now he want more advance shopping cart at the moment he uses paypal but you are very limited to things you can do. He want to have a drop down menu with quanty and a price box so when you change quanty the price changes to does anyone know any good shopping cart that may work any free ones also would we need to have a merchant account to open one we dont know to much about shopping cart or e com but we do have a free one called agora is this cart any good any help be very nice as we want to update his site also we looking to add a box that will show whats in the cart abit like www.play.com when you buy a item it add to a box and you can view it any idears on how we would do somethink like that you can see examples of what i mean at the following links
Have you looked into the open source shopping cart software osCommerce? It may do what you are looking for. I think it is PHP based, and I know for a fact it has 2 paypal modules.
Check out http://www.oscommerce.com/, I am not a software developer... so I am not sure how much PHP you need to know. I can't imagine it can be too difficult to setup though. Just give it a shot.

Well, osCommerce is open source… so it is free of charge. I am not sure how difficult it is to setup, but I am sure there will be a few files to edit and I am also pretty sure it needs a database system such as mySQL.
