I have read that all http requests on a secure page need to be either changed to https or relative paths.

What I am wondering is;
Out of curiosity I went to the checkout page for a random website and they had over 30 http(no "s") requests on an https page yet there were no errors?
Why would this be?
Are there browser specific security errors?

What about the doctype, etc.? How far do I have to go with these http changes?

(This is for a Wordpress site using an e commerce plugin so, you can imagine, I have 54 requests coming from all different files!)

Thanks!!

When you say "links" if you really mean files (images, external stylesheet etc) they all need to be called securely or you'll get the dreaded "secure and insecure content" notice (especially on IE). There won't be any errors but people may not continue with the purchase if they see this.

I've never used Wordpress with an ecommerce plugin but inserting <base href="https://yourdomain.com/"> in the head should call all the files referenced on the page securely.

Yes, I meant any http call whether it was to css or image, etc. I should have made clear.

So I just paste that as you have it shown? Wow. Did not know that!

Wordpress wp-e-commerce plugin the client was using. I am the 'fix it guy' after someone else started the job. This is a decent plugin, but too many hacks to make it do what we want IMO. I know lots about WP custom coding, but not e commerce!

Thanks a lot!
