Hello All,

"I don't know is it the right section for my topic?" If not then I request to Administrator to place this thread on its specific section.

I am very new to use Credit Card on Internet. I have problem that When I give my Credit Card No. on any site then this shouldn't see by anyone else, I mean it shouldn't Hack. Is it really call Hacking?

I know that I should give Credit Card No. on https site instead of http. But other thing I don't know. Please tell me all instructions of using Credit Card safely on Internet?

Is there any software like an Antivirus which specially made for your Credit Card protection?

Conclusion is how can I use Credit Card Safely on Internet Web Sites which shouldn't be hacked by anyone else.

I hope for the best answer.

Regards,

Qasim Ali.

The best way to secure your credit card information is to not hand it out. Any other release of that information puts you at risk. Did you know, however, that you can use your credit card without giving out your number? It's called by various names, but contact your credit card company and ask them about one-time use numbers. For one of my cards, it's called a "Virtual Account Number". These numbers can be used once and, oftentimes, configured for a specific amount. Because of their throw-away nature, they provide the most secure means of using credit card information on the web.

The credit card companies like Visa & Mastercard protect YOU the consumer first. If you have a fraudulent charge on your credit card, and the merchant cannot prove you authorized it, then they must issue a chargeback on your request and your account will be credited. I always pay by credit card for online purchases - it is more fraud proof than paypal or western union.

Sorry Guys I am still confused and couldn't understand your answers fully.

Here you can see my Questions again.

If I use my Credit Card to companies such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Amazon (Book Sellers), KFC and McDonald, then will I be safe or not? because all of us knows that these companies are trusted ones.

Can Credit Card Information be seen by anyone else with cookies or any online tool?

Suppose I give my credit card No. on Google Adwords, and click submit then after submitting, is there any threat of leaking of Information? I have a good Antivirus too in my PC. After all if I clear all history and cookies then risk will remain same?

Can anyone tell me how credit cards are being Hacked by a Hacker? I listen some people always get online with some Hacking software and when any other man give its information on any unknown PC and click Submit then these hacking softwares and tools work and credit card gets hack. Is it true? or tell me other ways by which credit card usually get hack.

Last thing is, Is there any software that protects our Credit Card Information?

Hope for the best reply.

I hope you don't use an antivirus tool because they collect your credit card data too. In fact, that's partially why the antivirus tools exist! Did you ever notice the software being developed to 'protect' your credit card information to make surfing secure? Well, they have access to all your credit card info. Whether or not they use it illegally is a whole other story, BUT...THEY HAVE YOUR INFO.

Hi, All

Thanks for giving me very good informations.

Are these questions right? Please take a glance at these:

1- Credit Card can be hack any way, I mean despite of having secure page (https), SSL Certificate and good Internet Security Software like AVG Internet Security 9, you still cannot protect your credit card fully. Am I right?

2- Have we very low chances of hi-jacking if we use our credit card to these companies like Google, Yahoo, MSN, KFC, Microsoft, McDonald etc. Am I right?

3- No software is developed to protect credit card hi-jacking?

4- Can I use my credit card each time with a new no. and specific amount? Suppose if I say to my company that give me a new no. every time and this no. should have amount of $100 only then would they accept? and is it possible? and if it is possible then would it reduce the risk of hi-jacking?

5- How do you use your credit card online? It's your privacy but I request you to tell me for my help please. How many times did you use credit card online and how many times it hacked?

I hope you will help me with answering these questions.

Regards,

Qasim Ali.

provided the site is secure (https) and you see the lock symbol, the communication is secure and cannot be decrypted, part of the communication is a "handshaking" in which the client browser and the secure server "agree" on a code that is used for the encryption/decryption. Even if this is "sniffed" initially, it cannot be used as it will be unique to each of the end machines.

Most online credit card fraud is NOT through "hackers" or "crackers" but by the owners themselves putting their details in when prompted by a "phishing" setup.

No other servers can read the cookies from elsewhere, and no service that I know of can store CC details in cookies, in the registry (encrypted) yes.
Browsers will not prompt to save passwords on secure sites.
So your details are as safe as YOU make them.

You are actually safer putting in your CC details on a genuine traders secure site than you are giving your card to a restaurant waiter.

I have used various Credit cards, debit cards etc "on-line" for over 10 years now, with lots of different sites and transactions.

How many times have been "hacked"? Exactly 0 times.

As a footnote, I have seen some databases with full CC numbers, CVV numbers, billing info, and expiration dates! ON SHARED SERVERS! Data was collected securely, but not stored securely (and, yes, all those owners have fixed that issue now b/c I required it before I'd touch anything else on their site).

And, Chris is 100% right: giving your card to a cashier is a number 1 way that numbers are stolen.
