I'm considering the possibility of selling a business I've been developing for the past year or so, but am oblivious of how to go about it and whether it's even really worth anything... to better explain, I'll give you a brief synopsis of my situation:
The site is a subscription-based service and both business plans used (monthly fee, ads) never really worked out. The business itself progressed well and a solid user-base was developed, but by that point my business partner and I had lost steam with the project. We both are at the point that we still feel the business holds a lot of potential, but we're too busy and drained to really put forth the effort to expand it.
That all being said, we wanted to just find out whether this business -- chock full of potential, but no revenue stream yet -- would even be worth something if we were to try and sell it. And if it were, how to go about it?
