Hi. I'm creating a website right now (in the United States), and I want to copyright it, but without paying. I found MyFreeCopyright.com when searching. Would that be fine to use? Or is is possible to rely on the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works or the Digital Millenium Copyright Act to copyright my work?

If your using a name in which someone else is already using, I wouldn't suggest any of that which you suggested. I wouldn't do it at all, especially with all the suing going on these days. You could go waaaaaaay over your head, even as a beginner.

So if I were to add Copyscape on to my site, and only that, would I be fine? Or would that not cover all copyright issues that may occur?

What exactly are you wanting to copyright? The whole site? The look and feel, the logo, the text???

I am looking to own copyright for the logo, design, and site content...(so basically the whole site)...but I'm looking to not be paying for it. Is there a reliable way to make that happen?
