And after years of trying to run home businesses I must admit that I don't do many of them. Working at home is so easy to get into bad habits. I will print the list out and study it.

Yes, tips are very helpful. To my mind 2 main problems for people who work at home are the following:

1. Time management - since you work at home, you may not work in the morning and hope that there would be enough time in the evening to complete all the planned tasks. However in the evening you may face lack of time, thus some tasks would be incomplete. So, you need to be able to plan all the work for the day properly and follow the plan.

2. Since there is access to the work place during the whole day till late evening, there is a wish to check how it is going even late in the evening - here you need to take your family into the account.

To my mind, regular working day (from morning till evening) is the perfect scheme actually. However if we talk about developers, the practice reveals absolutely different picture for us.
