I'm planning to run an ecommerce site very soon. Aside from paypal, I want to know what other payment tool I can use where customer use to pay on my website.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

You could use Google Checkout, 2 checkout, or #1 shopping cart. I am not sure if the last one is correct. It depends on what tpe of business you have.

A lot depends on what your web host offers. Some hosts restrict you to their proprietary merchant service, and others support only a few merchant services.

There is nothing wrong with starting out PayPal only. Just be sire you sign up for a premier or business account. PayPal's charges per credit card transaction are a little higher than many merchant accounts, but they don't have a registration fee or monthly minimum, so it's worth it until you start getting enough sales to cover those costs.

Yes, there are lots of payment gateways on the market nowadays. You could compare their terms and conditions, transaction fees and choose the one that suits you the most. Also there is geographical location question - some payment gateways allow customers from specific countries only to work with them.

What country are you from?

Depending on what you plan to sell and how much processing volume you anticipate having, I'd recommend you have your site/shopping cart integrated with a payment gateway (authorize.net and USAePay are two good ones) and your own merchant account. A merchant services company that is an authorized reseller of authorize.net, for example, could set you up with both the gateway service and the credit card processing. Fees for gateways seem to be pretty standard industry-wide: usually around $15/month gateway access fee and $0.05/transaction. The rates for eCommerce merchant accounts can range between around 2.19% to over 5%, and $0.18-$0.30/transaction depending on what is being sold/the services being offered.

Unlike what I have often heard about PayPal holding a merchant's money without really giving cause, lack of a personal account representative, etc... having a merchant account from a good credit card processor tends to be pretty painless and gives you a lot more control over your money.

I am using Paypal as we are only small at the moment and it was easy to set up and had no setup fees (which was important for us as we do not knwo how it will go). We did not look at any others.

I hate using paypal as payment method when it comes to business, it always disputes payment on their own, even if the client is not the one who disputed the payment. However, I don't have any experience using worldpay. Maybe there is still other payment methods rather than paypal and worldpay.

Paypal is what you call a 3rd party payment gateway. Google that and you will find other payment gateways.
