Hey guys, new to these forums.

Im about to create a application, and my team and I need more money, so where presenting some stuff to a potential investor, so my question is what do we show him?

These application is in its initial stages, and we have rough plans now, and are about to move our drawings into photoshop.

This app will have pretty much all the functionality ebay has, like, create a account, have a details page, search function etc.

Its not a auction site, its more or less and advertising site, where certain people create an account and then the public can go to the website and find a companies details..

Thats pretty much what the app does in a nutshell, so what pages, do I show to a potential investor?

If you guys need any more info, please dont hesistate to ask.

Umm, yeah, Id appreciate any information you guys can give.

In addition to the business plan suggested, include details on how it is going to be marketed rather than the usual summary found in a business plan.

How you plan to market the application should be part of your business plan

To reiterate, a good business plan is the first, and most important thing you're going to need. You need it for yourself, you're going to need it for potential investors.

Next up, think about how you would go forward if you didn't receive any funds from the investor. This works two ways.
  1. You'll have a back-up plan if the capital doesn't come through
  2. You demonstrate to the investor that your business is solid
Most investors want to buy into companies that don't really need them. They want to get a piece of success. So, make sure your proposal shows your business is solid, you don't really need the funds but, with them, you can embrace greater opportunities.

It's similar to getting a business loan. Banks only want to loan money to businesses that don't really need the money. Investors, especially in the current climate, feel pretty much the same way.

I created a post some time ago covering this subject:

I've moved this thread over to the business forum, hopefully, we'll see some insightful posts.

Do think that why we are in business is a better route to go. To make money only goes so far and then runs out of steam.
