I've used pinnacle cart ages ago, and that was pretty good, but I worked with a specific supplier and their product line worked great with the cart.
The supplier was dollardays.com (since I'm no longer in business with them) I thought I'd share it with you.
Every product imported 100% perfectly into the pinnacle shopping cart application...Only thing I had to do at the time was advertise the product line.
Good Luck on your ventures!

Are you wanting cart software or something with automated delivery for single sales?
I am assuming this is for digital goods. If you are wanting to sell and ship you need to look at some of the shopping cart software. Cubecart appears to be excellent and free but a newbie would have to live with the template as it does not look easy to mod.

I recommend you to use a free softeare named Corn-cart.I
t was customized and running for online shop owners conveniently. You could skin Corn-Cart with a nice clean CSS/XHTML design which you have pretty much total control over. The client found the Corn-Cart interface much easier to work with as well.
If you are interested in it, you can visit Corn-Cart website, or send me an e-mail for detail information.

Have a look at CrownCart Shopping Cart Software to see if this is what your friend is looking for. It has over 400+ features.

Hi guys
Thanks for the advice, it seems shopping software has got easier over the years, last time i looked it was so expensive, but now there are lots of free versions.
The ones I have found are Oscommerce, cube cart, zen cart, agora cart and with some hosting companies, you can get them installed for you by your host.
I will check out a few more but its pretty difficult to choose between them

If you are looking for a free version I would personally recommend MagentoCommerce.com. It has lots of great features that cannot be found on the current free shop carts.

It's really hard to definitely recommend a solution - since there are so many of them. Just from my own experience, if we speak of free carts, I'd go ahead with ZenCart as a mature, stable software (Magento is too slow, I think). From commercial solutions, I'd pick X-Cart due to its feature-richness and flexibility (a new version, 4.2, is even better than before since they've added some more useful seo tools).

Hi,
ZenCart is a decent option. If you are trying to avoid lots of setup time (while still keeping it free) I'd also recommend www.SnapJar.com. Simple to get all your items up and the interface is simple and clean.
As per your preferences:
-SnapJar is free (up to 5 items)
-You can upload lots of images for each item
-You can categorize your items
-You can use PayPal and Google Checkout as payment options
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Magento is really nice, but it is NOT very easy to play with. I have worked with osc, zencart, magento, cubecart, and as a programmer I prefer Zencart, since it's easier for me to develop modules and work out any new features I want.
One of the draw back of Zencart, however, is the lack of clean url (which can be fixed by using an seo module), and the mess it inherited from osc(which is being cleaned up, I cant wait for zen 2.0 coming soon)
Anyhow, play with as many of them as possible, and figure out which one is the best for you.

a mini shop online! Maybe you can try fastcommerce. it's free for 50 products, inculds google checkout, Paypal express checkout...lots of good feature.
On the other way, there are many in google. You can figure out which one is the most proper for your mini business.

I found zen and oscommerce carts hard to figure out. I went with corecommerce. It isn't free, but it was easiest for me to start out on. Later, when I'm more comfy, I'll switch to a cheaper cart.

OSComermerce & Zen Cart ar the best free ones if I would be asked.
We've been using OSCommerec for years and client to seemed to be happy with it. But Choosing Zen Cart would be a better choice.

Once you decide which shopping cart software you want to use for online store, you have to make sure the payment gateway you are using is able to integrate with the shopping cart software.
