I would personally recommend CrownCart software. There is currently a special where you get a free custom website design when purchasing the software. Best of all it's on sale right now for only $295. If you are looking for a free shopping cart software I would go with Magento hands down. It has most of the important features that top of the line shopping carts have.

I think Zen-cart is the best shopping cart.

Altough i am looking more towards magento now - I always found Actinic to be ok

Magento is good choice. And there are a number of good ready designs for it.
