Hello there,

I had a quick question. My aunt and I previously paid to have an ECommerce site developed for our tile company (www.ottimoceramics.com). However, plans have changed and we just want to shift from an ecommerce site to a general company website without a shopping cart option.

Is there any way to remove all of the shopping cart links (My Account, Add to Cart, Shopping Cart, etc) and keep the site like it is because we do like the ease of adding products.

Would something like this even be possible or would you suggest that we just develop a new site altogether?

Any advice would be very appreciated!!!

It's OsCommerce so there are plenty of people around who could disable the right parts of the templates to "turn off" the "shopping cart" functions.

Thanks for the reply!

I am guessing that this means that I don't have to pay for a whole new site to be developed. Would the task of changing OSCommerce be complicated? I only ask because I am going to have to hire someone to do this for me and I am weary of getting ripped off. I already feel like the person that I hired in the first place took advantage of me.

Also, I apologize if I posted this thread in the wrong section!

If it helps, I'd say it's probably the best part of a days work to go through and strip out all the ordering/account bits from the templates, rearrange navigation etc.

Shoot, did the designer mess up with the wideness of the website too?
On my screen it looks like its okay but hopefully that's not an issue as well.

Again, thanks for all of the replies. At least now I know that it is possible to use this ecommerce template without all of the commerce links.

There is a module you can install for OS Commerce called OS Commerce Catalog (I think). This automatically turns off all of the ecommerce functionality and just leaves you with a product catalog. If this what you are trying to do? The good thing about this, apart from it been a free module, is that it is fairy easy to uninstall at a later date if you want to go back to an ecommerce site.
