I was wondering how "Free Hosting Companies" make money with their services, without the use of ads. That is, how does Ad Free - Free hosting, make money?

Many of these companies try to influence their free users into purchasing paid hosting
or other services. Many also sell ad space for newsletters and on their home page.

What if, however, they choose to remian 100% free? That is, they have no paid services.

The reason I ask, is for my own Free Forum Hosting. Blogs, and CMS to come. I'd like, very much, to advertise it as Ad Free Hosting. Which would fit in perfectly with our slogan, The Home of Free Hosting. The only possible revenue I could think, would be from ads, and Ad - Removal.

What other options are there? I'm trying to understand how other competitors do it.
