Hi everyone,

Well, here are two domains that I've always been wanting to register (but I never got around to it). Unfortunately, they've both been registered now. Could someone please tell me if these names were really worth anything at all?

www.fr-ee.com
www.findforums.com

fr-ee.com isnt really that bad. it sounds pretty good.
findforums.com would be my favorite though, that one is a must have, you should have gotten that one while it was available.

I wouldn't have bought fr-ee.com. To confusing. Findforums would be excellent, though, if you could market it well.

I'm sure that there's something better that you could register now though

I don't like fr-ee.com very much either. It would be hard to market especially offline considering you can't say "go to free dash something.com", your have to say go to "fr dash ee"... if you follow me.

I would have purchased FindForums.com though!

Hi,

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Now I know what types of domains I should look for. You've all been a great help!

I know some great domains, but they are only available as .net or .org domains. Should I get them anyway? Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

.net and .org are fine.
i know like 4 domains i want that are .net and .org

if the name kinda "rolls off your tongue" when you say it with .net or .org then get it!
in other words, it should go well with the name.

like...
netsale.net
administrator.org

Personally I woudn't buy a .net or .org. People always try the .com version of a name first. The best example I can think of is 'Hypermart'. When I first heard of them I remembered the name but tried the .com and ended up at some toher site (they've bought it now, though).

Although it wasn't a problem in that case, as the other site was completely different, if you were doing something generic (like for example webmastertips.net), the .com site is likely to have similar content, so you lose a visitor.
