My domian www.go4expert.com has been registered by my first webhosting company and he ran out of business and as it was registered for 2 years now its time for me to renew. Can any one tell me whats the best way I can renew.

1. The contact info on the domain is of my webhosting provider and so I cannot access the account at godaddy and transfer that to my current account.
2. I am also planning to change host but cannot because I cannot change the nameserver.

What I am thinking is transfer the domain to some other registrar and that should do the job.

You can let me know if there is any other solution to the above problem.

Also what are the good registrar apart from godaddy.

Thanks
Shabbir

The way it sounds, if you cannot get your old host to give you the info to login and transfer or at least change nameservers, you may have to let the domains time run out, and then re register it where you want.

If I am wrong or there is any other way then please correct me..

It sounds to me like you need to contact the current registrar (Godaddy), explain the situation, and ask for help. They might ask for proof that you are the person who paid for the domain, ID etc.

But the domain is locked, so the transfer will not go through.

I asked them but they told that they cannot do anything. They did not ask for any proof of such kind.
