hello, first post and hoping someone could give me some ideas on this frustrating problem,

i have serveral domain names registerd with 123reg, for the last week i have been unable to get access to the sites useing them,

one is www.facebookgamez.co.uk all i've been getting is the message below

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
There might be a typing error in the address.
i've contacted both 123reg and my host and both are passing the blame onto each other,

123reg seems unwilling to even look into the fact it may be a problem at there end even tho i have pointed the nameservers to 3 different hosts and got the same problem, they just keep telling me it is not a problem at there end as all they say is "I can confirm that the error is not from the 123-Reg side. 123-Reg only hold the domain name registration for you, we do not control the visibility of your website, this is controlled by your hosting server"

any idea what this problem could be?

thank you

Your domain points to:
consul.websitewelcome.com (174.121.34.226)

Whatever is on that box needs to be configured for your domain ( and i also assume that you will need your website html files on that host also. )

Either you have a typo in your DNS entry or your webhost has the issues.

As 123 said, Its not their problem and this sounds true.
Its either a problem with your DNS pointing or the webhost that its pointing to.

that one i've just updated the nameservers to point back to my host where the files are so will probably still be updating,

i dont see anyway it can be my webhost that has the issue as said its not that one single site that has the issue, its 7 to be exact, all with the same issue all on different hosts, the only common link between them is being the domain names with 123reg,

as for the typo, i copy and paste the nameservers, all the sites were working fine for weeks/months and pointing to the host fine untill last saturday night when they all came up with this issue,

as longa s the DNS records point correctly, Then its out of 123's hands.

What sites are having the issue.
And where SHOULD the A records be pointing to?

Whatever 174.121.34.226 is... It just isnt replying to web requests for that domain..

if that IP is wrong, Then its a propagation issue and should resolve itself

You just need a redirect 301 on http://www. to http:// and then it should all work.

i dont have permission to list the names of all the websites, but the 2 that have said i can are facebookgamez as above and <adult link removed>

for both sites the original temporary webpage URL given to me by the host works fine

The url without www works fine for me in Thailand, using a proxy server in the USA I get this though.
Quote:
URL Error (110): An error has occured while trying to browse through the proxy.
Failed to connect to the specified host. Possible problems are that the server was not found, the connection timed out, or the connection refused by the host. Try connecting again and check if the address is correct.
Has to be a dns issue I should think.

Still getting no reply for www and non www in the UK.

It has to be either DNS or a badly configured virtualhost on the http server

I suppose you need to get in touch with your web hosting provider to solve this issue.

still having this problem and totally lost on what to do,

it was resolved to start with by my host giving me temporary nameservers that had it working fine, the trouble now is that host has vanished totally so i'm stuck with these domain names pointing to a host that no longer exists

i've tried contacting the domain registrants again they have submitted my nameservers manually to nominet but still no results,

its like the domains are locked to voltagehost
