There is Hype about adding 3D in front of generic name .com that could be the next bid thing. Do you agree? As I have a few of these domain names and am currently developing some of them.

I DISAGREE! unless you've got like 3D.com or the likes I'd say they're only worth as much as you pay for it... unless of course you DO in fact develop then rather than just sit on it

What do you mean like taking the word trash.com and putting 3d in front of it to make 3dtrash.com?

The 3D domain craze is nothing more than a fad. On one forum there is a cult like following of those that are into the 3D domain fad with a thread which has been active for 34 days with 686 posts and 10,710 views. The individual that started the thread has gone so far to say that "3D will revive the domain industry."

Thanks but no thanks. I will pass on this fad.

Ah there's no accounting for was the gullible will believe.

Probably started by someone who happened to have bought a bunch of "3d" domains and was trying to start a landslide of "buyers".

Bingo! The chap who started the thread definitely has a vested interest in promoting his racket. Interestingly enough no one called him on it until a few days ago.

You mean, I was a little too subtle in post #3 then?

You made it clear in post # 3 how you saw the situation. I was referring to posters in the other forum in post # 5.

Aha! I see.

Different Places often have their own agenda when discussing Domain name Purchasing and selling, very often it is a Deliberate Ploy to cover up the Dubious Practices some "Domainers are Prepared to employ.

OMG OMG, wayfarer3D.com is available! I must get it before someone else snatches up this valuable piece of property. Soon there will be skyscrapers growing in the adjacent domains and I'll be able to sell it for big bucks.

personally I do not buy into the hype that is 3D, sure there will be some decent sales, but I feel that there are many better opportunities to be had out there.

I dont think 3D anything will take off until they can make TV's etc that do "3D" without the need for glasses.

Like multi layered LCD / TFT

Once thats done, Then yea, we can start to make 3d websites etc.

But i cant see that being about for a LONG time, Let alone on any kind of PC screen.

The ultimate domain name, according to this new theory, is http://3d3d.com/, which is unfortunately already taken. http://3d3d3d.com/ is also already taken, however, it appears http://3d3d3d3d.com/ is not taken! Jump on it fast folks!

Unless you got some good names like:
3DTV
3DDramas
3DAnime
3DAnimations
3DGames

It'll take couple of years before any company starts buying 3d domains.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The world is going round with mad speed.
