I want to buy a domain for the first time

I don't have a problem with it im just saying if you comit to a year hosting you have already paid the cost of the domain and more.

Okay, another example

Customer gets MONTHLY hosting + free domain. Several days later he asks for a full refund and gets it. However, he can still keep his domain. is it free or not?

no he can't still keep his domain.

and by NS i think he means like NS1.yourdomain.com (yeah you should be able to do this, depends on your dns provider which usually cost extra money, or host your own).

and $10/month? give me $5 a month and I'll give you your domain lol.

this is why i have kept stay away to register domain include host site.

Most hosts will charge you for the domain itself at that point. The free domain came with a hosting plan, which he's no longer using.

Regardless, you wouldn't be able to transfer registration to another company for at least 60 days after the domain is registered, per ICANN regulation. You're then at the mercy of the company you just (as they'll see it) tried to rip off.
