I just got a domain name for my self and i have been looking for what to do with it before i get a "reliable web host".I need ideas on how i can make this personal domain name work.i would also be greatful if i could get tips on how to make a personal website work really fine.

Starting with free web host is not a good idea. Here you get no support & there is no guarantee of uptime. You always have to live in dilemma. Better to go for paid web hosting & enjoy the benefits like professional support, money back guarantee, uptime guarantee etc.

You are right... I suppose that is the way to learn how everything works there

I will suggest you go with Cheap Hosting service instead of Free hosting service.
