I want to register few domains.
I want to hide my information from whois search.

[I have never used Godaddy. In other registrer, there is options to hide information or not]

I am confused about Godaddy. When I go to register, I see 3 options -
1: stadard Registration
2: Bussiness
3: Protected

What is the "Stadard Registration" actually. Does it mean it will show all information of the domain owner.

that you chrishirst,
nice information. But there are (a) Domain Ownership Protection (b) Private Registration (c) Business Registration

Is "(b) Private Registration" and "1. Stadard Registration" same?

You are considering certain company and I suppose that you should forward all related questions to them

Do private registration? I think that hides your personal details from a whois search.

private registration hides your info and is worth the cost if you are worried about your identity.

Keep in mind that PRivate Registration is unnecessary in most situations.

Some of the Importance of Proper Who is Details could be

*Find the owner of a website
*Contact owner or associated contact for a domain name
*Law enforcement purposes
*Domain Transfer authentications
*Issuing digital certificates and other such authentication
*Find the hosting company of a domain name
*Find expiry date of a domain name

but then often Registrants opt for privacy protection cause of the inappropriate use of whois like
*Spam
*Selling Marketing databases
*Harass Individuals

You better go with Namecheap.com or Name.com rather than Godady.com. The first two domain registrars offer free private registration with every domain you register with them. Godady maybe the most famous domain registrar out there but it's clearly not a good company to have your domains with.

Using false information when registering a domain is illegal will get it suspended.
