Does anybody know about this? One of our clients that stores and tracks a lot of information on their client's web sites is asking us if they need to convert from varchar to nvarchar (Unicode) encoding in their database. They've got clients of their own overseas, and it looks like IDN will be more of an issue for them.

So far they've been doing it like everyone else and only storing ASCII text for domain names and really all URL data, because that's all that's been allowed. What's the skinny on IDN?

me neither. but, as an internet user I wouldn't want to be visiting sites with that name often. Its hard to type in or remember those characters.
