Who does this? I keep seeing estimates that it's 15-30% of web traffic. Who randomly types in things instead of using Google?

My wife does it, and always seems confused when she can't find what she wants. Is it mostly people that are non-tech oriented? I'm trying to get a feel for who does it in order to figure out what kinds of sites would do well to park.

my wife does it too... she doesnt want to go to google and search either..

If she wants to buy something, for example: "games" she automatically type in the browser "games.com".

she doesnt know anything about computer.... I have to login for her if she want to check her yahoo email account

Hmmm....maybe pages with names catering to housewives will park well. God knows their lack of technical know-how doesn't keep them from spending money online.

I have a few tech-ish domains that get good type-in traffic. Thinking about just buying a very basic month-to-month hosting package and making a mini-site out of them. I'd imaging the CTR would be higher and I could get organic traffic too.
