Thought it sounded like a good name but later i figured out it was a pretty horrible extension and just overall not to great.

Thats not as bad as what you make out - with a bit of work that could have been pretty decent

.net isn't a terrible extension. I mean they are mainly used for network sites, but they can work still. There are plenty of developed .net's out there.
