I created a page and it looked great until I realized I forgot to add a doctype. So, after adding the appropriate doctype to the top of the HTML, I now have a horizontal scrollbar I can't get rid of. I am using 1024x768 resolution (larger resolutions are not affected) and the layout is 1000 pixels wide. It should fit just fine, but for some reason I can't get rid of the horizontal scrollbars in IE7. I added 'border:0' to the '*' at the top of the CSS and it fixed it in IE6, but IE7 is still not happy. Any ideas?

Here's the site:

Thanks,
Adam

I can't help you much with IE7, I don't have access to it, however, you have some other layout issues in Firefox you need to address.

One problem at a time! Why does the vaildator list mostly open or close "<" or ">" tag symbols, but they are all intact and opened/closed as they should be?

EDIT: Used the appropriate doctype and added a few alt tags and there are 2 errors now rather than 87. WHEW!

Can anyone help me with the stated problem about the scrollbars in IE7?

I'm working on the FF prob as we speak...

Thanks...

So, after some messing with the CSS, I was able to keep IE6 happy and IE7 no longer gives me the scrollbars (hallelujah!), but FF still misplaces the content-img div! Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You're really approaching that the hard way. You have it 'sliced' as if you were using tables and that's just not necessary with CSS.

Your problem is that image is IN the html. The image SHOULD be set as a background on the div instead.
