Hi,

I need some help with my blog's sidebar.

I apperantly have not written the sidebar's CSS code very well. It's position on the page varies from page to page (eg. the front page contra the archive page) and it does not appear the same in all Web browsers on all resolutions (tested in Safari RSS, Opera 9 and Firefox 2).

Could someone please offer me some improvements to my sidebar's style sheet code?

The problem only seems to be occurring in IE.
I would, however, get rid of the absolute positioning on #sidebar and use a float instead. Use float:right then adjust margins as needed for top and sides. Then make sure you CLEAR the float.

yes i agree with lady, floating is way better than positioning. and btw im not sure IE understands css? because your images are gray and not the purple color in IE.

The "images problem" is due to IE's lack of support for PNG's alpha transparency.

OK, I have done some more changes to my site.

:!:

And the problem with the useless bottom scrollbar still occurs on all browsers except Internet Explorer 7 and Safari 2.

And Internet Explorer 7 pushes the sidepanel down bellow the content.

Please help?

You're using width: 100% - you're going to get a scrollbar even though it is not needed. Since no side-scrolling is necessary, why are you worried about it ? Make your width 99% - scrollbar in FF goes away.

AS for the apparent drop - you've thrown IE into quirks mode, you get no standards-compliant mode in IE 7 if you do that. Fix your doctype.

I changes 100% to 99.9% and it appears to work in all browsers now.

Except IE7. I have changed the document type to XHTML 1.0 transitional.

The side panel still gets pushed down.
