I have a little knowledge of coding but not much, I built a website to Display my 3D/ 2D portfolio work but I've run into a problem.

http://www.digikatie.com/conceptPage.html

Right now, my DIVs are set to absolute, I did this so I could postition them EXACTLY where I wanted to... however it moves when you resize the browser window. I got it to work on the Models page however they are just stuck in the center, no position.

How do I make the divs stay EXACTLY where I put them? I'm using dreamweaver cs3.

Using absolute positioning to put things "exactly" where you want them is self-defeating and probably one of the worst ways to build a web site. You are running into just one of the many problems with it. You would be better off learning to use the document flow and floats than fighting it.

Besides, this notion you have that you can get pixel-perfection this way is misguided at best, because pixel-perfection given the variety of browsers, devices, operating systems and displays is just not possible.

Thanks for the responses, I really appreciate your help.

if I take out absolute and use relative, fixed, static I can't move them: I put in different values and it does nothing - I'm not looking for pixel perfection here, I just want to position my divs.

Is there another way to acheive this without re-coding the entire page?

I've heard of floats, I don't know much about it though. Do you have a link to a site that uses it?

You don't need to POSITION any of it, except perhaps position:relative on your main container div. Learn to use FLOATS and the document flow - top to bottom, left to right, and then use margins and padding to put things where you want them to go.
