I have an hnav.gif that does not display.
CSS is here:

    text-align: left;

I have checked:
1. This code is being executed as I can change the background here to green and it does this.
2. the image file is in /public_html/images/hnav.gif
3. if I place another .gif image there, that does not display either.

The image should look as it does in the Forum page. It is missing on all other pages.

What is the best way to home in on what this problem is?
I have same problem on localhost.

Clear your browser cache.

'cos it is still working (as I posted at WLC) for me.

I've cleared the cache in both Fx and Chrome and it is still not showing for me as it should. Are you able to show a screen-shot here? or should I give my email address for you to send it to me?

Yes, that is the Forum page, which IS working. The problem is with every other page on the website.

Well seeing as the "home" page redirects to the forum page and the forum is then the root of the site, it seems natural to take it as that is what you are talking about.

Every single page EXCEPT the forum page does not display the image.

Just put some CONTENT in where it isn't showing And set the WIDTH!!!

If it doesnt have a WIDTH IT CAN'T SHOW ANYTHING!!!!!!!

Just to CLEAR THE FLOATS as well THAT is why the parent has collapsed.

You have so many silly and pointless HACKS in your style sheets it's a wonder anything works ate.

For goodness sake clean it up IE5 on mac is LONG dead and targeting NN4?????

How old are the stylesheets you started with?????

Better try some other formate like .png or .jpg

I regret I incurred your wrath. I am not a programmer but an old guy trying to get something, that is a bit - maybe, a lot, beyond me.
Maybe I picked some examples that were not a pure as you would like, but they were working for me.
If you had read my posts carefully, to begin with, you would probably not have wasted so much of your time.
I have since been courteously given a solution on another forum.
I won't bother you again.
