Don't put it in word

put code tags around it like this

Code:
[ code ]
[ /code ]
leave out the spaces.

One tip I've learned from this forum that's helped a lot. . .

Design your CSS for Firefox first. Then if it's not displaying right in IE, troubleshoot the bugs.

you shouldnt worry too much as firefox is more popular than IE and that margin will continue to increase..

I beg to disagree on your facts and on your implication.

First the facts . . .

According to browser stats below:
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=0
while Firefox is increasing in popularity (18-37% of browser market share), IE 6 & 7 still make up the majority (52-75%).

Now the implication . . .
Even if IE falls to 10-20% of browser marketshare it will still be important for web designers to design for cross-browser compatibility. Visitors who arrive at a site and see a pile of garbage will depart before you can blink. Any business willing to instantly give up on a significant chunk of their potential customers (whether 10% or 75%) won't be in business for long.

Anyone can put up a website. The thing that distinguishes professionals from the duffers (I'm one of the duffers - but I'm trying) is the ability to put together a website that looks great (and consistent) regardless of the browser.

Another thing I've learned that's helped a ton with cross-browser compatibility is the importance of declaring a doctype and validating the code.

Declaring a doctype: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/doctype/
Code validation: http://validator.w3.org/

Hope this helps,

A.

The best method I've found is having multiple browsers installed on your PC, and checking your progress with all of them as you go. I use Firefox, IE and Safari to check. It's easier to fix if you find the problem right away.

Using only one standards-compliant browser SHOULD work but the world isn't perfect and IE doesn't always behave as it should.
