Get the divs out of your list !! That is NOT proper coding, it is totally unnecessary, and is the likely source of your problem. Structure your list properly and go from there.

The 'trick' is to put that cube image in as a non-repeating background on the <li>. Then you adjust the padding and margins to push the text away from it.

I set a line height to 25px seems to have done the trick.

I use 1.5em lineheight so list-style bullets and images aren't in place in some browsers so I disable them and use background images instead - watch out for floated elements though, it's a disaster with combination with backgrounds.

Not necessarily.. I use floated elements with backgrounds all the time.. no problems.

And that will break the layout when someone increases text size. It also doesn't change your invalid nesting of divs inside a list.
