Hover over the "About Us" menu, then the "Partners" submenu option to generate the level 2 submenu. In IE6 and 7, the level 2 submenu is interpreted correctly (i.e. positioned absolutely based on a relatively positioned parent element). Firefox and Safari for Windows, on the other hand, don't seem to understand that the parent element is the list element and seem to be positioning it relative to the top of the About Us submenu itself.
I'm tired of struggling with it, and I've been messing with this layout for about 8 hours now (mostly the menu, but a few other tricks as well), so any thoughts would be appreciated right about now. Thanks.
Ermmmm. Opera/FF/Safari show it properly to me and IE7 isn't treating the a elements as blocks.
Did you use the examples from listamatic?

Other than the dropdown menu not going away when I move my mouse off of it in Firefox, it appears to be ok.
It's a mess in IE6 though, the dropdowns stretch all the way across the page

Moofasa: I refuse to use those examples. The code in them is "sample code", which usually means that I spend more time fixing the mistakes than I do coding it myself.
zincoxide: the problem isn't the width of the LI tags. They're fine. It's the positioning of the second-tier list that's the issue.
LNR: which version of FF are you using? That didn't happen with me at any point.
Mistakes? I have used them on several occassions with little effort and they didn't require fixing. But nevermind.
Other than it looking a lot better, nothing goofy happening (opera, ff2, ie7, safari).

Workin' like a champ now Adam, even in IE 6. For the record, I'm using FF 2.0.0.12
