How much is CPM worth? How do I find the CPM of existing websites? I would like to know primarily about AdWords CPM.

Are you asking how to caculate the CPM worth of a page or how much to charge for banner CPM?

Let me try to rephrase.

How do you find out what others are paying for CPM for a specific site? Is there a CPM estimator?

Just think of how many visitors they get and you can prolly come up with an algorithm for that..

The sites rates, which might be based on their demographic, can make CPM specific to niche IMO. So if you know your market you might be able to chart up an algo like dave said above.

depends on the niche. I just signed up for one that pays from .25-.70 cents per 1,000 impressions. I don't know if that's good or not, as it's the first offer that came along.

.25 to .70 sounds fairly low to me. Even for my low traffic, low profile sites, if I multiply up the number of impressions to how much I am making on click throughs I am looking at a few dollars per thousand.

If its going to make you less than click thoughs I'd obviously not bother! I guess its great if you have a seriously, seriously low CTR though (like forums or something).

it is forums, and clickthrus are very low < 5 / month.
CPM is the only way, or flat-rate which is what I offer people I signup on my own.

Where do you get the higher CPM payouts from?

the ads are popups, and are blocked by my browser. I will probably cancel.

ValueClick's CPM ads pay around $0.25 per 1,000 impressions, which isn't a lot, but if you have a highly-trafficked site with no real targeted content, CPM ads are the way to go.
