Here is a favorite among visitors

I use these things sparingly on some of my content pages, but use only one ad network to display popups, and only show them once per 24 hours to a visitor. I visit pages at times that will load 3-4 popups at the same time on one page, I can't see how they get away with that.

I never show them on my forum pages. The reason for this is it only takes one person to complain in a thread for everyone to decide they are annoying. While most people probably are not bothered by them, as soon as someone makes a post about them, they suddently become annoying to everyone.

Do you utilize pop up ads on your sites? How heavy to you throw them at visitors?

Only use popups on one site. If I used them on my more popular websites I would make quite a bit more, but I don't think its worth the risk of potentially scaring away some visitors.

Do you pop-up over your own website or over others?

Are you using the pop-up ads to promote your website or are the pop-ups ads that are displayed to people already on your website?

I've never used Tribal Fusion or Value Click. Can I target your website?

If your website was about Ring tones, could I pop-up my affiliate ring tones ad over your website and hopefully get the qualified traffic you attracted to click my banner?

Are the ads popping up over your site in competition with you? Are the pop-ups trying to steal your affiliate cookie?

Get paid per pop up.

Where a normal Tribal Fusion ad display is paying something like $1.85 CPM, the popups will average $4.00 - $5.00 or more sometimes.

The difference is even greater for Value Click. Their banner ads pay horribly for me (low in the rotation), but their pop ups pay close to $4.00 cpm.

As far as I know, all the networks allow companies to target individual sites. Burst does this on a regular basis with sportsbook type ads on my site. I will move them up in the rotation during these campaigns as they actually contact me for approval to run these ads.

Not sure about the affiliate cookie thing.

Just a couple more stupid questions...

Are the pop-ups from these networks triggered by a script on your website or some kind of adware?

Do you know how much it costs to be an advertiser in these networks? It it's starting to sound good.

If I ever found any of these ads to be spreading some sort of adware I would immediately remove them and notify the ad network immediately. If it continued to be a problem, I would discontinue using the company until it was addressed.

I have no idea what the cost is to advertise on these networks.

I tried popups once, and I doubt I'll ever try it again.

I think that in order to use popups, you have to first put yourself in the shoes of your main audience type. So, in my case, I didn't have to go far because my main audience is teenagers. From there, I saw that they hate sites with popups, because, well, unintelligent teens think that popups = viruses and stuff.

So, I removed popups promptly to save my visitors the hardship and not lose returning visitors.

I dont like popups myself so as a result I would never put something on my site which I dont like. In my opinion thats like being a hypocrite. I always put the comfort of my users before any money I make.

I don't use pop-ups, even though most people just exit or have pop-up blockers and don't mind, I don't want to have a few people get annoying and not like my site(s).

I use popups only with one site, and I am sattisfied, as the specific type of site (proxy) is hard to monetized otherwise.

For those who are about to use popups I will strongly advice you to stay away from paypopup. I thought they were a descent company, but they banned me for no reason (without even replying to my emails...)

In general I believe that popups are cool only for sites that do not expect loyal visitors. If your traffic is 90% search engine and there is nothing to make the visitor come back, then it is a good solution

If you want to add them to your forums (I saw them in the sig) then you better not doing that....
