Having your own, simple URL and landing page is ALWAYS a great idea for CPA campaigns. The 2 biggest reasons are organic traffic and free hits from advertising. (By free hits I am referring the few people that copy and paste the URLs from CPC ads)

The question of the day is "When/should you use frames?". Anybody want to speak from experience?

When most people think of Frames they think of "Scroll Bars" and content that looks somewhat cheesy. For example take a look at my DishCheck.com site. This is what I mean by Frames.

Having Frames with scroll-bars is unprofessional at best.

lol, My http://www.DishCheck.com website got a few signups. I'm assuming it is all from the previous post as I haven't been promoting it lately.

Thanks!

Frames certainly work well, but many merchants get angry when their campaign is placed within a frame.

On CPA campaigns, the merchant is paying you for the lead. The only reason an affiliate would have to keep the campaign within a frame is so he can show the surfer other ads, but that lessens the value of the lead for the merchant.

My opinion is that if the merchant is paying full value for the lead, he should get the surfer's undivided attention. It seems like a happy medium is opening the link in a new browser window.
