How does this progress sound so far - My first Contectual ppc site

Hi all, So after collecting enough information I beleive was needed to start. I have launched my site. Here are the steps and current results. Please give me feedback.
I choose a subject from jon at wickedfire's 25 free niches list. Its also a subject that I have a passion for so that had something to do with it.
I took a "web standard compliant" no tables template and applied it to joomla.
I bought a domain and produced in the last 7 days, 5 pages of articles. I got a link or two in wikipedia that uses my article as a reference. I added myself to digg.com and only 2 days ago put up my google sitemap. I am adding a new article and page roughly every day or so.
Since Day One I have 853 page impressions. 87 clicks. 10.20% page CTR. a page eCPM of $6.42 and $5.48 in total adsense earnings.
So how does this sound. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Does this sound ok for a beginners first try? Is it good, bad, or medium?

my whole goal is to make a site that can produce and average of 20 a day. and to see how much work is involved and how to duplicate and mulitiply it.

%10 CTR, looks like someone knows how to position ads! :P, and surely a eCPM of $6.42 would be something i wish i had when i first started, keep it up!

If you don't forget to do this, you'll be golden. What I see happen often is you'll get this site to some level ... let's say $20/day and then the gains will slow down. Many people then decide they'd be better starting a new site and replicating their success... which I totally agree with. They start a new site and they stop adding content to their existing money-maker sites.
IMHO and a lesson that took me well over a year to learn ... never stop investing in the money-makers. When you decide to work on other sites (and that time will come) take some of the profits and invest in outsourcing to keep this site growing with quality content.
Good luck and congrats ... sounds like you're off to a great start.

Great advise, thanks.
What I think I am finding, is that this is alot easier than expected! I am loving it.
I do plan on replicating this site over and over. But I didn't think about the content added to it after I reach my goal.

I believe I just found your website. Does it have anything to do with magic tricks? :detective:
Don't worry, I won't post the URL here, since you don't want it posted until your experiment is over.
The design is good, ad placements are good, and so is the content. Remember, keep adding content and updating daily. Good luck!

I hate to be a spoilsport but $2.4 isn't much money. Also you are promoting your sites with wikipedia and digg but wikipedia editors will delete the links since your sites are made for adsense and digg doesn't pass PR.

The wikipedia link is a link that is legit and complies. and your right digg doesnt pass pr, But it does pass traffic.
But 2.99 (thats where its at right now) is alot for a site being 7 days old and me learning everything on a ppc site from scratch. this is my first attempt and its just getting started.
ps...unionisnotdead - is that a picture of jerry falwell as your avitar?

Yea that is jerry falwell
The problem is wikipedia editors don't like Adsense sites. I have tried it awhile ago by dropping links to my cancer info website a year ago and those links were all gone in 24 hours. I got a warning and those warnings are quite stern. Even if you dont have adsense on the site editors remove sites. It is possibly the most moderated site I have ever been too, which is amazing when you consider wikipedia has over 1,000,000 articles. Even the slightest adjustment sends an alert to all the senior editors and then they come and inspect the adjustment. Should you ignore the warnings all they need to do is contact the ISP which is very easy to do.
What you need to focus on is search engine traffic. That is the best traffic you can get, but it is also the hardest. Anyone can drop a sig link but search engines can provide thousands of targeted visitors/day for years should you learn how they work.
I can launch a site for example and in two weeks get 1000-5,000 uniques a day from the search engines and make $40/day from the site on average. Its all about numbers. And since it is searhc engine traffic I can build the site and kickback and let the search engines do the work for me while I collect $.

The first attempt at wikipedia failed, But after reading the guidelines and such, i was able to resubmit and the editor accepted it.
<!-- favor of God -->
My traffic from google is growing every day and now is over 60 %. I am getting a bunch of long tail keywords but even better im getting listed on front page of a few 3 phrase keywords.
PS> I finished out yesterday at a whopping $3.55. (almost all from google!)
side note: Why Jerry? if your part of the church of Christ. sorry bout the religious side talk, I am a curious person by nature.

This is unbelievable. I must be doing something seriously wrong with content sites....
I think 3$ / day is GREAT!
