A funny story about my application to YPN's beta. I applied with a few sites and never heard anything back. I decided to give it a shot with Gamers Radio. I felt like I had a decent looking site and a chance of getting in.
Apparently, around the time Yahoo was reviewing my site for approval, I had an opionated news article titled Dear Gamers, Wal-Mart Hates You. It was filed under the category Up Yours. It involves censorship and why I will not buy music or games from Wal-Mart.

So I get this nice little letter from Yahoo telling me my application has been denied because I do not have the type of website they are interested in. I don't remember the specifics, but it mentioned something that really leads me to believe they read that article. In addition, I never received a response for the other sites I submitted.
I guess being opionated is a bad thing for Yahoo. And to think I could have got in if I had a proxy site or a mindless Flash Game site. LOL.
The good news is they said I could reapply when they came out of Beta. |
