PPC Links in signatures and comments?

I haven't tried this out myself, but are there people out here that have PPC links in their signs and post with PPC links as their homepage in comments on blogs?

I've actually seen this is a growing trend which is not looked favorably by most site owners. There is an instance of a large photo-sharing company having troubles with a large photography web site just over this issue.

Personally, I won't mind it if it's done in a quiet way. But some sort of flashy link or 1200 links is asking for too much.

No I intend to do it in a moderate normal stylish way..
