Hello,

I can see that in many blogs they copy the content of other blogs or online newspaper, they paste it into their personal blogs and put a link back to the original source from where they have copied it.

I wanted to know...

is that legal to do this? Copying the source of the material will "safe your back" or there can be problems as well?

Please, if you know clarify in details this topic.

Thank you

A little bit illegal. But placing a link back is free publicity, so no one really complains if you do that.

What about copying the contents and changing the structure of the sentences?

It is completely illegal.

To repost someone's content, you must have permission. It doesn't matter if you cite them, give credit, or link back.

Some info:

Still no good.

Even if you restructure the sentences, change all the nouns to synonyms, etc. You would still be creating a derivative work. You would still be in violation of copyright law.

I don't recommend that people copy anything from a persons blog or website and posting it on their own blog or website without first obtaining permission from the author of the blog or website because it is illegal to do this.

All of you are ignoring the "fair use" aspect of Copyright Law.

Small portions of almost anything can be copied as long as the originating source is cited. UNLESS the originator has specifically restricted all copies and republication.

As for rewriting the original, that's illegal, but thanks to the Internet being a bastian for the lawless, it happens all the time.

I tell anyone who writes and posts online to EXPECT their materials to be stolen in one way or another.

And if you write:
The fact is that this happens this way, this way, like this and this (describing the copied fact), as you can see it is described in plenty by www.originarysite.com?

Is also this a violation? If it is a violation of copiright you are violating the rights of the people who wrote the copyrights? Because you are reporting the words of the copyright in other words?!?!And what about adding "this information came from www.xxx.com"? or I took this information from www.xxx.com?

What about writing in a blog that there is a security issue in this web site, the security issue is -php, xxx, yyy,?>, and that it is possible to repair it like this: hh,sss,kkkff?>?...

Maybe somebody already knows about this security issue and they already wrote about this. They could have written that it's bad, they think it would be great the solutyon JJJJJ, but I also can find this security issue, find its details and find the solution and think the same good and bad things about the author of that post?
I would like to know whether also here a person is illegally acting or not.

If somebody writes that there is a good shop opened in Wild Street and they comment on the shop and its products, I cannot do the same because it has been already commented by somebody else? I will act illegally commenting this shop similarly to another person because "the law" thinks that I copied it and changed the sentences/words and maybe using synonyms?

I think there should be some kind of little freedom of word, otherwise before writing something we must check all the web whether there is already something similar????

I you are writing your own original thoughts, then you are not likely to have any problems.

You definately cannot use someones work and pass it off as your own and whilst you can use an extract from someone else work you should generall check its okay and then credit it (or link back as u say)

Sometimes there is no other way than to copy someone else's words. How would a quote of the day site work without copying? that said copying another sites content and linking back to it so you have a clear conscience is just lazy.

Hello friends
I am a new entrant of this forum and want to take part in this interesting discussion. I have been also working as a content writer and many time faced this problem that when I tended to find information on certain topic I got same data from very few websites. in such cases it becomes really difficult for the content writer to provide quality and unique material. In such cases the content writer should try his level best to introduce some fresh and latest ideas otherwise copy the material from the other website with the permission of the author or that material or blog or give proper reference at the back end.

It all means that copying the material from some other blog in the same form without the consent of the author or without giving proper reference the new blogger can be banned for this illegal activity.

Best way is to just check whether it would be fine by asking permission from the original authors or if you are taking from article directories, there should be one part that explains pertaining use of article, to give credit to the authors.

That would avoid any issue or complications.

Is not is possible that we may put our creativity into practice and take some ideas from the already written articles and then write new one with some latest information. It is much better than asking somebody else to copy his/her contents or others like this.

But I am a bit confused because I have seen many reputed blogs which have just copied and pasted content from some renowned sites without being penalized by Google. In fact, they are doing a good business instead.
