Yes!!! It is too expensive...

You can get a perfect Ghost writer in rentacoder.comand scriptlancing.com for just $5- $7 per 500 words. I am also writing content in these freelance sites for these rates only...

If your content is of a similar quality to your posts I wouldn't pay you anything. People want to read well written and informative content.

The price is toooooo high. Don't pay more than 100$. I am sure you can get a well written article for even less than 100$

Just my opinion

When you pay peanuts for work, you deserve everything you get.

I think post #22 demonstrates just how "well written" your article will probably be for that kind of price.

I would say it will all depend on how much research is put in and the experience shared. By the end of the day, thats the benchmark of how an article should be priced for a writing service...My opinion..

I used to do some freelance work in my free time. After reading this post I figured it may help you out if I chimed in.

Article writing isn't a very easy profession, it takes lots of hard work and dedication. Depending on the work the price can vary widely. Sure, maybe if this guy is taking 20 hours to write his article, you can pay the 50 cents a word. In my opinion, though, that is extremely high and most definitely a ripoff.

I used to write articles for .015 cents per word. So if I wrote a 500 word article I would make $7.50. I felt like that rate was about right for my work load. Of course, I actually took the time to do research and develop outlines. Most of the writers I have met refuse to do this. They dodge research and skip the outline. This allowed them to make more money and, consequently, write articles about twice as fast as myself. Whenever I sold an article I gave away the full rights and I never requested for author attribution.

Sure, you can pay that much. Do I recommend it? Not at all. You CAN get quality content for far less.

There are only two factors that should factor in to your decision:
  1. Will you get your money back from the article through ad revenue? In other words, can you afford it and will it make you money?
  2. Is the quality of the writing at a high enough level to justify the price?

Those are the things that you need to be asking yourself, not other people. If the answer to either of those questions is no, then you shouldn't do it. If both are yes, why wouldn't you?

How long is a piece of string?
It all depends.

You need to consider 3 things before deciding whether
those rates are reasonable or not.

1) The nature or composition of your industry.
Is it a high margin/ high volume market? Is there scope
to reposition your company as an authoritative source
within your niche, or would you be just one more blog
in a saturated market. What would becoming an "authoritative
source" mean for your bottom line?

2) The expertise the writer brings to the table.
If its a "mommy blogger" or somebody without any
qualifications thats obviously quite different from someone
with some industry credentials, not matter how well written
the prose.

3) How much research and/or original testing is expected.
Is it simply a matter of giving and opinion based on easily
referenced facts or does it mean digging deeper or creating
original research.

You might be able to negotiate those rates down a bit but keep
in mind that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

WAY too expensive. 2 words = $1? 100 words = $50 dollars? Heck I'll write for you for those prices.

Is she knowledgeable about and can she write in depth about the technical side of maintaining a forum? Take a look at the OP's homepage. Can she write stuff like that? If she can, maybe she should get in touch.

I think I agree with what the rest have said. It all depends on whether the quality of the article is worth paying for. A well researched and interesting article should be well worth that amount.

i agree. .50/word is just too expensive considering the fact that you could write your own articles if you have time.
